The G-version is the most-built B-52-variant and was manufactured from 1958 until 1961. The last planes were retired in 1994. In 1991, the USA organized its biggest mobilization since WWII named "Operation Desert Storm". Among the fighter planes operated over Iraq were numerous B-52Gs such as the "Old Crow Express" which operated as part of the temporary 1708th Bomb Wing from Saudi Arabia
